About Alex

Alex conducts workplace investigations and advises clients on labor negotiations and employee relations matters. His legal experience spans the private, public, and non-profit sectors. Prior to joining the firm, he served as Deputy City Attorney for the City of Santa Cruz. Before that, he spent nearly four years as Legal Counsel for the 501(c)(3) public charity TechSoup. His first job out of law school was with the legal department of the Seattle Seahawks.

Workplace Investigations

 

Alex conducts investigations related to workplace misconduct, sexual harassment, race discrimination, retaliation, sexual orientation harassment, theft, fraud, favoritism, misconduct, and abusive conduct. He is a member of the Association for Workplace Investigators (AWI) and passed the rigorous examination to earn the Certificate Holder (AWI-CH) credential.

 

Municipal Law

 

As a former Deputy City Attorney for the City of Santa Cruz, Alex advised municipalities on transactional and litigation matters concerning the Brown Act, CEQA, land use, planning, affordable housing, contracts, construction, constitutional law, the Public Records Act, premises liability, and code enforcement.

 

Education & Licenses

 

Alex graduated with honors from the University of Washington School of Law and cum laude from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration (Accounting). He is admitted to practice law in California and Washington State.
