The Communications Officer is responsible for citywide public communications and works closely with executive leadership to accomplish successful communication, outreach, and engagement with the community regarding City business and progress toward City Council and organizational goals. The Communications Officer plans and organizes public communications activities and operations including media relations, community relations, crisis communications management, branding, and internal communications programs. The Communications Officer also manages, leads, and develops the Office of Communications' staff members through coaching, mentoring, and continuing education to ensure that the City achieves a high level of community engagement and outreach.
